ECE297 Course Syllabus

Welcome to ECE297 Communication and Design!

  • Important: Optional quiz during labs on Jan 24th and 25th.
  • Important: You must register your team by following the instructions on this page by the end of day on January 15.

This course will expose you to engineering design, to software engineering and development, and to professional communication. The perfection of these skills is fundamental to a successful career in engineering, IT, computers, software, academia and technical management.

Much of what we learn in this course is skill-based. You learn by doing - doing things wrong as well as right. Both are valued and will be important in this course. Communication is integral to this progress; you must be able to describe, in measurable terms, what you are setting out to achieve and why. You must then be able to report on how well you have succeeded and how you intend to correct for failures and/or build on successes.
